Shunkosai Hokushu was an Osaka print designer, painter, and book illustrator, active circa 1802-32, about whom little is known. He produced distinctive images of kabuki actors, participated in haikai and kyoka poetry clubs, and was a devoted kabuki enthusiast, belonging to at least one fan club. He is considered the leading actor-print designer of his generation.
