The woodblocks for this set of five 'lantern' prints by Hasui were destroyed in World War II, however the prints themselves survived the war and in the 1970s remaining prints were distributed amongst the members of the Hasui Printmaking Enthusiasts' Club. Each of these designs is beautifully printed with embossing for the ribs of the lanterns.

See Folk Museum of Ota City, Hasui Kawase, Exhibition Catalogue, (Ota City, 2013), p. 101, cat. nos. 135-140.
